Operational Notes
  1. Extended lead times
    • Requires 8 days for HACHINOHE, NIIGATA, ONAHAMA
    • Require 10 days for ARIAKE, HAKATA, HAKODATE, HIBIKINADA, IMARI, KAGOSHIMA, KANDA, KUDAMATSU, MOJI, OHITA, SAGANOSEKI, SAIKI, SASEBO, SHIBUSHI, SHIMONOSEKI, TOBATA, TOKUYAMA, TOMAKOMAI, TONDA, TSUKUMI, UBE
  2. LA Sample Kits
    • RLA kit delivery is being handled by a third-party company. It requires a minimum of 5 to 7 working days' notice depending on the requested location. The kit will be delivered to the appointed agent. Urgent request will be arranged on a best endeavour basis.
  3. LNG Tanker Vessels
    • Shell Marine cannot deliver lubricants directly to LNG Carriers in any ports or LNG terminals in Japan due to regulatory restrictions. Customers can hire boat via ship-chandler who can supply LO to the LNG tanker. Customers are responsible for engaging, at their own risk, a port agent and/or ship chandler to facilitate barge deliveries to LNG Carriers.
  4. LPG tankers
    • LPG tankers can stay anchorage area in Japan according to port regulations and (low danger level).
    • LPG tankers usually take anchorage stay before discharge because LPG terminals are usually fully committed, so the chance for delivery is at anchorage.
    • However, please note that LPG tankers cannot stay anchor area after discharge. So delivery can only be at anchorage stay during the timing before ETB (estimated time of berthing).
    • Both terminals (LNG and LPG terminal) cannot be supplied with lube oil due to dangerous terminals, therefore, lube ships are not allowed alongside.
  5. Minimum Order Quantity
    • Bulk – 4,000 liters
    • Omala S2 GX 150, Tellus S2 VX 46 - Bulk offer may have certain restrictions on MOQ and lead time. Please contact customer service for precise information
  6. Other Information
    • Kindly take note that delivery will be carried out as per latest advice on vessel’s ETA/ETD. Any changes made after order is confirmed, will be subject to a new confirmation.
  7. Pumping services
    • Pumping ex Drum is available in selected ports (minimum 4 drums). No additional fee for pumping service
  8. Restrictions & Requirements
    • Delivery to a Non-listed port needs to be checked with local supply team for feasibility. Please contact Customer Operations.
    • No delivery to OPL. All deliveries should be direct to vessel/port as regulated by Customs Authority
    • There are limited term and spot barges in Japan and hence the delco may not be able to support deliveries (even if the order is within the port lead time) if the barges are fully committed. Delivery to ship chandler is possible if within 5 days lead time, hence please provide ship chandler details upon order placement to explore as an alternative to barge delivery.
    • Ports with 7 WD lead time will be delivery to ship chandler only.
    • Alternative delivery options is possible through direct arrangement by customer with 3rd party (please speak with our customer service team for more information).
    • Please consult operational notes of individual’s ports to check respective restrictions and requirements.
    • Order amendments made after the goods are shipped or transported to the secondary warehouse will incur a cancellation fee (no fixed charge)
    • Shipyard delivery is possible
    • Bulk offer is subject to the actual berthing location as some terminals do not allow bulk supply in Japan
    • When vessel calls restricted terminals, supply should be made at anchorage and for packed grades only. Supply need to arranged via agent or ship-chandler’s boat service. Customer must hire boat service via the agent or ship-chandler for delivering the vessel. Local distributor will only deliver the packed products to agent or ship-chandler’s boat by Packed Truck.
    • Delivery to agent's warehouse/pick-up from Delco warehouse is possible. Please provide the contact detail of agent or ship chandler within the lead time of each port.
    • Japan only allow deliveries at the day light hours. Delivery after sunset and before sunrise are not allowed in Japan
